To inspire teenagers' enthusiasm for scientific exploration and broaden their scientific horizons, the 8th Anqing Science Lecture was successfully held in the Science Popularization Lecture Hall on the second floor of Anqing Science and Technology Museum on the morning of November 22nd. Representatives from the Senior High School Department of our school participated in this event, immersing themselves in the vastness and wonder of the universe.
To start with, this lecture specially invited Huang Yongfeng, a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor from Nanjing University, to give the talk. With the theme of 'The Ultimate Three Questions of Humanity: Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going?', he used simple and understandable language as well as vivid and detailed examples to present the entire picture of the universe to the teachers and students present.
What's more, during the lecture, Professor Huang started from the classic theories of the origin of the universe, combined with the latest scientific research results, and explained in a clear and simple way the formation and evolution process of the universe, discussing core issues such as 'Where did the universe come from?' and 'Where will the universe go?' and led the teachers and students to travel among the stars and the vast sea, experiencing the charm of astronomy. Evidently, not only was his explanation based on rigorous scientific logic but also included interesting interactive elements. Therefore, the atmosphere in the room was lively with frequent bursts of applause.
Furthermore, the atmosphere at the scene became increasingly lively as students engaged in active interaction. Meanwhile, everyone freely shared their conjectures and insights about the universe, exchanging learning experiences with each other. Also, through face-to-face communication with experts, not only did students clarify their doubts but also further enhanced their interest in astronomy and frontier sciences, which strengthened students' belief in active learning and exploration of the unknown.
In conclusion, a science popularization lecture promises a spiritual enlightenment. Students of our school's Senior High School Department gained a lot from this Anqing Science Lecture Hall event in that not only did they gain a deep understanding of cosmic science knowledge, but they also developed a strong interest in exploring the unknown and pursuing truth. More remarkably, Anqing Foreign Language School will continue to pay close attention to the development needs of students, actively build high-quality learning platforms, and help young students forge ahead on the path of scientific exploration, shining the brilliance of their youth.
